Re: MOT exemption, good thing or no?

I wasn't able to post the page from the FBHVC newsletter on here (Too big) but I have posted it here - https://www.mmoc.org.uk/Messageboard/vi ... 4&start=40 (Bottom of page).

Re: MOT exemption, good thing or no?

I took part in the consultation over this (But I think exemption was always the plan) and expressed the opinion that testing may well need to be put in the hands of specialists and that it should be done on the basis of use, rather than by the calender. As it stands, I will get mine done every 1000 ...

Re: Jokes thread

The bloke who used to work for my former milkman was like that collecting money!! Anyway A male patient is lying in bed in the hospital, wearing an oxygen mask over his mouth and nose. A young student nurse appears and gives him a partial sponge bath. "Nurse,"' he mumbles from behind the mask, "are ...

Re: What classic vehicles have you seen?

I have a Snooper 3 Zero to do that ;) . I had a " Brush ", with a mobile speed trap, in the Summer of 2013. Luckilly I spotted it and so when a notice of intended prosecution arrived and I saw the alledged speed, I knew they were at it or that the thing had not been properly set up. Suffice to say m...

Re: What classic vehicles have you seen?

It was a 14/28. According to McComb, the first "Morris Garages" cars were simply Cowley chassis with non standard bodies. His book has a chapter called "Bullnose Days 1922 - 26". I know the early 14/28s were bullnose cars. I don't think I will ever buy a new MG......... or any other new car for that...

Re: Do you want From the Humber up over to join Scotland?

Nye Bevan, one of my all-time favourite figures from the party's history, probably didn't waste his cash in licenced premises. Sensible fella. I pass where his ashes were scattered on my way to work. I will post a picture of the monumment but here are a few pictures showing the area. http:...

Re: Do you want From the Humber up over to join Scotland?

Absolutely not; I believe that united we stand, divided we fall (Or at least we fall quicker). With Plaid Cymru hanging on to the coat tails of the SNP, it fills me with foreboding (They may not have many seats but Plaid have far more influence than their level of apparent support would suggest; the...

Re: What classic vehicles have you seen?

Paid my first visit to http://www.marchestransportfestival.co.uk/ and can only say what a superb event :D :!: We were lucky with the weather and I met John Challis (AKA Boycie), who was signing books and was their star guest (I understand he lives locally). I should have got him to value the V8 :lol...

Re: Today I have been ?????????????? to my classic

The re chromed front bumper is now fitted to the V8. I got the back of it powder coated, as it's a bit awkward to get in there with wax (Esp the over riders). Although the bumper was done with copper, nickel & chrome, I feel a bit of extra protection is no bad thing. I've been helping my father put ...

Well, whatever your politics (And I'm not about to start a debate on that :!: ), our rolling tax exemption is now safe :D :D :!:
