Alot of lowish estimates.. I guess to lure punters in..

Things like the Ford Capri at £2000 Estimate. Will go for way more. Interesting selction..

Not that sure the estimates are that low - cars change hands at this auction for quite fair prices - I think a combination of sensable reserves & Kings Lynn is far from the usual classic auction circuit - ever driven there ?? it takes forever from London !!

Back to the original topic Matt's car changed hands at a Historics @ Brooklands auction about 18 months ago and was not a lot of money - £5.5K springs to mind - not my scene though !!
1937 Jowett 8 - Project - in less pieces than the Jupiter
1943 Jowett Stationary Engine
1952 Jowett Jupiter - In lots of peices http://Jowett.org/
1952 Jowett Javelin - Largely original
1973 Rover P6 V8 - Original / 22,000 miles

Arr I see what you mean, Driving to Essex was abit like that..

lets say you would need to be commited to going there. eg you had to buy some thing at the very least..

Hmmm might be tempted now

Well besides the the engine / box swap - it had extensive reworking of the electrics / suspension / brakes - a re trim and a full paint job - and by my book - even at mates trade rates it would be about £10k thrown at it !

ACA have achieved some record prices, seem to do very well with 02 Beemers, and that Volvo 164 from 2 sales ago went for a silly amount. They've been getting full houses at recent sales so a lot of people aren't put off by the location, it's only a couple of hours from the capital, and quicker by helicopter which you can land at the nearby Ramada hotel. Obviously most of the stuff is bread and butter which is the way they like it.

Nope, he's not bought another one - he got given it... By me! 8-)

I had 2 breakers make pitiful offers then never bother to collect or even get back in touch (one had even viewed the car & haggled face-to-face!), so when Matt was making noises about what he should get next & someone sparked his enthusiasm by suggesting a W124, I mentioned mine was available if he wanted it. It was collected on Saturday & he came round yesterday to do the paperwork; lovely bloke, we chatted for about half an hour about all things car.

Keep an eye on his Twitter (@mattfbjones) for more :) Or you may catch him on the mbclub.co.uk forums, he's on there as mattjones I believe but he's not a regular poster.
…that's why Allegro will look as good 5 years from now as it does today.
